It's Time For A Reset

As science continues to shed light on why we gain weight and have difficulty losing it, here's what we've learned.

It's more than willpower

When willpower alone will not solve the problem, it's time for a new scientific approach.

It's in your genes

Scientists Estimate that up to 80% of your weight is related to your DNA, the genetic instructions you inherited from your parents.

Your body can resist

The Human body is designed to store fat. This means our own biology can work against us when we try to lose weight.

But you can lose weight

Despite the odds, there is a way to safely achieve your weight loss goals using science-based treatments.

Introducing Mounjaro® (Tirzepatide)

The latest triumph in weight loss science

How does it work?

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) mimics natural hormones that can help you take back control of your cravings and boost your metabolism.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Mounjaro work?

Mounjaro acts like two of the body's natural hormones, GLP-1 and GIP. Both of these hormones help us to feel full after eating. By copying these hormones, Mounjaro produces a feeling of fullness and regulates appetite.

How long does it take to work?

Mounjaro typically starts to work within days and weight changes are typically seen within weeks of starting treatment.

How much weight could I lose?

Research has shown that you can lose up to 22.5% of your starting weight after 18 months of treatment. For example, an individual weighing 130kg before starting treatment could lose up to 29kg.

How do I take Mounjaro?

Mounjaro is taken as a once weekly injection from an easy-to-use pen. Each pen contains four doses and should last one month. It is injected subcutaneously (into the skin) using needles that we have carefully selected to be as comfortable as possible. We can also offer anaesthetic cream if needed.

Who can take Mounjaro?

Mounjaro is only available on prescription to those who fulfil the following criteria:

  • BMI of 30 or more
  • BMI of 27 - 30 and who have weight related issues, such as high blood pressure, prediabetes or high cholesterol

What if I have diabetes?

Mounjaro is used in hospital clinics to treat type 2 diabetes.

If you have type 2 diabetes, you can check your eligibility using our online form.

Unfortunately Mounjaro cannot be given to people with type 1 diabetes.

What if I'm pregnant?

Mounjaro cannot be given in pregnancy or if you're planning to become pregnant.

You should stop Mounjaro at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy and use effective contraception during Mounjaro treatment.

Mounjaro can also impact the absorption of some contraceptives, Your contraceptive medication may need to be changed. We can discuss this in clinic if required.

What if I'm breastfeeding?

We do not know if Mounjaro passes to breastfed infants via the milk. We therefore do not recommend Mounjaro if you are breastfeeding.

Will my usual medications be affected by Mounjaro?

Mounjaro can affect the absorption of some medications, making them less effective. This can be explored in detail at your welcome appointment.

Is Mounjaro better than Ozempic or Wegovy?

Mounjaro is designed to mimic two of the body's naturally occuring hormones, whereas Ozempic and Wegovy only mimic one hormone. Research has shown that weight loss with Mounjaro is greater.
